My little sister got married this past week, very exciting times. But also the 48+ hours of total travel, and daily scheduled plans, have made it very hard for me to be able to progress on my work.
I want to give a special shout out to Laurie who was holding down
while I was away. He has a new baby due any day now, and so it’s even more impressive of a feat. You always hear the quote “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go with a team.” It’s been an honor to work with someone who is so clearly passionate about AR/VR. Thank you, Laurie.
I’m getting back to my house around 2 AM EST, I’ll take a day to sleep, and then I’m back to it.
A big part of this 60 Day Challenge is to be able to recognize that not everything will be perfect. Although the dream would be to sit at my desk and have conversations with people all day every day, I also recognize that most successful business people are constantly dealing with ‘something’ that pulls at their time. My mindset was therefore to live in the moment, and trust that everything will unfold how it’s supposed it.
One thing I learned with my last 2 startups, over an 8 year period, is that you cannot predict outcomes. Just because you work hard everyday and have the financial backing; it doesn’t mean success. Therefore, I believe the opposite should also be true. You can find success without “perfect planning” and meticulous control over very detail. Most of the best things in my life have been ‘random’ and ‘unplanned.’ Most of the worst things have been a failure of expectations.
This is why I wanted to do this 60 day challenge, just put random stuff out into the universe and see what comes back :)
