Lesson of the day: The power of ‘building in public’
The phrase, ‘building in public’, is a phenomena amongst an online community called Indie Hackers. They share their goals, ideas, and small wins on their way to success. An A+ example of one these personalities is (@th****kp) on Twitter, he began hacking together business ideas in public when he had a few thousand followers on Twitter, he now has 40K+ followers and leverages his network to build companies. It looks really fun.
4/5 of my meetings tomorrow are with connections that occurred as responses to my sending a newsletter/posting on LinkedIn.
Building in public is something I’ve heard a lot about for a long time, and so far, so good :). Thank you everyone for following along and helping.
Goals yesterday
In startups, there’s a common known product concept called an ‘MVP’ - minimum viable product. This refers to a product in it’s most simplest state. Maybe it only has one feature, maybe it breaks every now and then, but at least you have something. As my fund partner, Larry, always says, “it’s better to have a thing.”
I wanted to record the intro’s to podcast episodes - in progress
In order for the shots to look a bit more professional I’ll need to begin setting up a makeshift podcast studio - check the new green screen
I wanted to create an MVP for my hard money loan idea - done
Goals Tomorrow
5 meetings - looking very much forward to meeting everyone
Pack my suitcase - I’m headed to New Orleans on Thursday for some family fun
